No partnership tiers
SDX does not operate a partner programme with bronze / silver / gold tiers. Every integrator gets the same capabilities, the same rate limits, and the same support.
No revenue share from integrators
SDX does not charge integrators a revenue share, transaction fee, or referral fee. If you build a commercial product that uses the SDX API, 100% of your product revenue is yours.
Why it's free for integrators
SDX's mission is to create the most complete real estate sustainability dataset possible. Third-party software platforms are a critical distribution channel — they help building owners get data into SDX without changing their existing workflows. Charging integrators would reduce participation and ultimately shrink the dataset.
SDX earns revenue solely from licensed content sold to data consumers (investors, lenders, index providers). Integrators help grow the dataset that makes licensed content valuable. It would be counterproductive to charge them.
What integrators can offer owners
Integrators may want to highlight the following benefits to the building owners they serve:
- Free benchmarking — Owners whose data flows through your integration get free benchmarking against six global standards.
- Data Dividend eligibility — Owners earn a share of licensed content revenue through the Data Dividend. Note that the dividend goes to the building's underlying owner, not the integrator, and each building earns one dividend regardless of how many platforms submit data.
- Free licensed content — Owners can access aggregate data products for free for their own internal use.
- Compliance reporting — Owners get automated compliance reports across 16+ frameworks.
Integrator obligations
While integration is free, integrators must comply with the SDX API Terms of Service, which include:
- Owner authorisation — You must have explicit authorisation from the building owner before submitting or reading their data.
- Data accuracy — You are responsible for the accuracy of data submitted through your integration.
- Rate limit compliance — Respect rate limits and implement proper retry logic. See Rate Limits.
- Attribution — Display the SDX attribution badge where data from SDX is shown in your product (badge assets are provided in the developer portal).
