The Representative Model

You are one person doing work for many real-estate owners. SDX models that directly: you sign up once as a representative, and each client org invites you in. You never need a separate login per client.

How it works

  1. You sign up as a representative. When you create your SDX account, choose the representative account type. You don't create an organization of your own — your account is bound to you, not to a client.
  2. A client org invites you by email. An admin in the client's organization adds your email and picks an access level. You receive the invitation and accept it.
  3. The client appears in your account. Once accepted, that organization shows up in your account as one of your "available orgs." You can switch into it from inside the app.
  4. Repeat for each client. A new client engagement is a new invitation, not a new login.

What this means in practice

  • One email address, one password, one MFA setup — across every client.
  • When you switch into a client org, the entire app re-scopes: their properties, their meters, their settings, their reports. Not yours.
  • When you switch out (to Consultant Overview), you see a consolidated view of every client you have access to.
  • Each client controls their own access level for you independently. Read-only on one engagement, full management on another, no conflict.

Required: register as a representative first

A client cannot invite you until you've created a representative account. The invitation step looks up your email; if no representative account exists for that email, the invite is rejected. Tell new clients to wait until you've signed up before they try to invite you.

Switching to representative from a non-representative account

If you originally created an SDX account with the wrong account type (e.g. owner), the simplest fix is to register a fresh representative account on a clean email and have your clients re-invite you. We don't currently migrate accounts in place.
