The Shared Platform
The shared layer underneath every SDX product.
The platform is the shared infrastructure — standardized definitions, consistent normalization, six benchmarks, 16+ compliance frameworks, and lineage on every number. Intelligence, Desktop, and the MCP Server all read from this same layer.
Where it sits
Surfaces above. Data sources below. The shared layer in between.
The platform is what makes the surfaces and the data sources speak the same language.
The shared layer is the product. The surfaces are how you reach it.
What the shared layer does
Four jobs, one neutral platform.
The work that has to be done once, well, and consistently — so the surfaces above and the data sources below stay in sync.
Definitions
One vocabulary across the industry. Standardized property types, asset classes, meter classifications, and fuel types — so a "multifamily building" in São Paulo means the same thing as one in Boston.
Normalization
Weather adjustment, unit conversion, occupancy and operating-hour scaling, source/site EUI. The math that makes buildings comparable across climates, regions, and asset types.
Benchmarking
Six global benchmarks computed simultaneously from one submission — SDX, ENERGY STAR, NABERS, EU EPC, CRREM, and GRESB. No re-entry, no methodology drift.
Lineage
Every number traces back to its source meter, reading, or upload. Audit-ready trails for investors, regulators, and owners — verifiable without trust.
Live Data Connections
Connected to the infrastructure layer
SDX pulls data directly from utilities and the EPA — not through intermediaries. Your credentials never touch SDX.
ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager
LiveFull integration with EPA's official Web Services API. Connect your Portfolio Manager account, share properties with SDX, and automatically sync ENERGY STAR scores, meters, and consumption data.
Green Button Connect My Data
LiveOAuth 2.0 utility connections using the NAESB ESPI standard. Users authorize directly on the utility's website — SDX receives interval data (15-min/hourly), billing summaries, and costs automatically.
Architecture
NAESB ESPI standard — any Green Button-compliant utility can be added with configuration only
OAuth 2.0 authorization — users authorize directly on the utility's website; credentials never touch SDX
Automated interval data (15-min/hourly), billing summaries, and cost import
ENERGY STAR score sync, meter import, and consumption data pull from EPA's official API
Infrastructure-layer integration. Any Green Button-compliant utility can be added with configuration only. SDX connects to the same data sources that sit beneath every sustainability platform — reinforcing its role as neutral shared infrastructure, not a competing application.
Benchmarking Standards
