This is the inaugural issue of the SDX monthly newsletter. Each month, we share updates on the platform, governance, partnerships, and the product roadmap — published on the last Thursday of every month.
Platform Launch
SDX is now live. The platform is completely free for all users — owners, consultants, and third-party software providers can read from and write to SDX at zero cost. We launched with support for 60+ property types across 30+ countries, with six global benchmarking standards computed simultaneously from a single data submission.
Governance Charter Ratified
The SDX Board has ratified the founding charter. Key commitments include voluntary and free participation for data contributors, unconditional data portability and exit rights, and a commercialization boundary that prohibits the sale of raw, owner-identifiable data. The charter can only be amended by owner supermajority.

What's Next
In February, we will be expanding API capabilities for third-party integrators and onboarding the first wave of authorized representatives. The Product Committee is finalizing normalization methodology for weather-adjusted source EUI across all supported climate zones.
